July 2005
Sometimes even die hard C&R anglers like to keep a good meal of trout. On this day we decided to see if it was feasable to catch and eat your limit in the same day... It wasn't.
We fished Hermitage Park Pond in Edmonton this summer, and while the fishing was slow, we got a couple tiny rainbows and met up with a fellow angler from our forum.
Even in the summer we like to fish for warm water species like walleye. These pictures were taken on the July Long Weekend, and Tim even managed to catch a sucker.
Andy was down at Dickson Trout Pond for a few nights, and managed to hook into some dandies...
We made a couple of trips down south to fish for cutthroats this summer. Tim and Nick were fishing for risers on Racehorse Creek one evening when Nick got surprised by this nice 16" cutthroat.
We got some nice looking cutthroats on our weekend forays down to the Oldman System. None of them were quite as nice as this one though...
This beauty was out of one of our little creeks. The fish are spread pretty thin and they don't get very big, but as you can tell, when you get one it is definitely worth the time.
Andy had a great time fishing around Castlegar on the Columbia River. It is a phenomenal river for fishing, with some amazing hatches. An afternoon's fishing for walleye was followed by an enjoyable evening drift for huge rainbows with guide Dwayne D'Andrea of Mountain Valley Sports Fishing . We always have a great time out there with Dwayne.
We got to fish to some fun hatches along the way...
There are some things about random camping that we just don't understand... This wasn't "Sparky's" camp. In fact, we drove right by his camp (middle) and he was nowhere to be found. We are deeply concerned... If anyone knows the whereabouts of Sparky, please let us know...
Fishin' Southern BC is one of the highlights of summer. The picturesque landscapes along with great dry-fly fishing combine to make it an enjoyable experience.
We've had the privilege to cast to some fine looking pieces of water, and of course, catch some great looking fish on light fly rods.
Here's a look at some more of those fish...

So the weather forecast from three different stations can apparently be completely wrong after all. It was supposed to be +24oC and sunny...well look at what happened. 15oC and rain all day is what we got. It didn't seem to bother the fish on this day though.
We had a lot of firsts this summer: Tim's first real Alberta cutthroat trout fishing trip (middle), Nick's first real Crowsnest River Trip (2nd from right), Trevor catching a bigger fish than Nick... It's been a great summer so far and we have a few more firsts we'd like to do before the summer comes to a close.
Here are a few more pictures that we enjoy
